Why should you blog?

Blogging should be everyone’s hobby.

If you are not into writing, make it a podcast or a video.

Or you can keep it as a private journal for your reference.

Consider it as documentation without any strict guidelines.

What to write?

You can write anything you want to share with others.

  • Quick tip – short yet helpful to readers
  • Commentary – industry news with your views
  • Tutorial – how-to guides
  • Review – share your experience about a product or a service

Target audience

Your blog is your own space.

All of your connections and people in your industry would read your blog.

However, it is good to define your target audience.

  • You – you are the primary reader.
  • Beginners – anyone who is starting their journey in your industry.
  • Peers – people with the same experience levels.
  • Recruiters – when they do some research, let them know more about you.

Blogging vs Social Media

We consume so much content every day.

Almost all social media makes seeing posts in chronological and categorized archives hard.

Algorithms dictate which content to read and the order to see.

So, blogging has its advantages.

A blog allows you to sort and organize your content. Readers can search easily and share it with others.

So, write on your blog and redistribute it on social media.

The goal is to document your ideas and experiences. All other metrics don’t matter.
