The step you skip is the one that breaks you

A soft, minimalist illustration shows a woman calmly walking upward on a staircase made of warm golden blocks. She has long dark hair flowing behind her, wears an orange top and blue pants, and steps steadily with a relaxed posture. The background fades from deep blue at the top to warm beige below, with a soft round sun-like shape in the sky. The scene conveys steady progress through small steps.

Interesting or boring, small steps are helpful.

When you work on a project you’re excited about, you lose track of time.

Then excitement fades.

You thought passion would carry you.

It won’t.

Breaking it into milestones and tasks does.

This works for boring tasks too.

I get excited to brainstorm, build, debug, test, document.

But filling forms? Writing on paper where one mistake means starting over?

I hate it.

So I do one field at a time.

One line.

One breath.

The work doesn’t care if you’re inspired.

It only cares if you showed up.

Take one step.

Then the next.

That’s the entire game.
