Claude2Blog started the idea: let an AI assistant publish WordPress posts through MCP. Lax Abilities Toolkit extends that into full site management. Works with any MCP-compatible client, not just Claude.
Abilities included
- Posts: create, read, update, delete, list (with scheduling support)
- Pages: full CRUD with parent and child relationships
- Categories: create, list, delete
- Tags: create, list, delete
- Media: list and retrieve items (URLs, dimensions, alt text)
- Site Info: name, URL, timezone, version, language
Requirements
- WordPress 6.9 or newer (Abilities API)
- PHP 7.4 or higher
- Node.js LTS
- MCP Adapter plugin
- Any MCP-compatible AI client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, etc.)
