# The art of appreciating yourself

Are you still waiting for a peer or someone else to appreciate you?

Instead, you should appreciate yourself!

Likes don’t count

Do not fall for this. The number of likes is not a reliable form of appreciation or recognition.

You might have friends and family members who don’t understand the topic, yet they like the posts to show that they care about you.

On the other hand, relevant comments and re-posts are indicators of support and appreciation.

Noisy timelines

Every social media is full of cringe marketing posts and AI-generated content that is neither edited nor interesting.

People spend little time on social media for learning or sharing.

We get a new AI toy to play with every day.

If your work gets less engagements, it is probably due to the noise.

Information overload

We are processing so much information in a day.

From memes to news, there is much to read, listen and watch.

It is easy to lose your voice when all the influencers and brands constantly yell about something.

Deliberate practice

Go for the internal motivation with deliberate practice.

Challenge yourself with every attempt.

Appreciate yourself whether you hit or miss the target.

Once you realize you are progressing, you will be encouraged to do more.

Gamify your process and make it fun.

The journey is the destination. Keep going.

Celebrate milestones

Share your small wins or failures publicly.

Your wins will inspire others.

You may get some help and find a better way when you share your failure.

Reward yourself for completing a milestone.

External rewards will be there when you are consistent.

Remarkable work never goes unnoticed; in the meantime, appreciate yourself.
